Monthly Favourites #19 - October

It's that time of the month where I look back and share some of my fave things with you! Ranging from songs, TV and movies, to my new Bullet Journal section!

Song
I discovered Kehlani after her song 'Gangsta' was featured on the Suicide Squad OST. I found this in the related searched on YouTube and I became quickly obsessed with this at the start of the month. I love the tune as it reminds me of Summer, and this girl can dance!! Plus she looks amazing no matter what hairstyle she has... Love this song!

Picture
My favourite picture from this month has to be this one of me and my sister Ash, when she came back from Uni last week! This is the first time she's been in back in ages, and I've not been at work - so i actually got to see her!

TV Show
I have loved this show since the very beginning, 11 years ago. Season 12 has just kicked off and after that AMAZING ending to season 11, you can't be surprised to hear that I was on the edge of my bed watching the first episode. OMG. So much happened, and I can't wait to see how everything rolls out this season with Mary back in the picture! As usual there are questions we're needing answers too, but it means I'm hooked!

Movie
I remember watching Basil the Great Mouse Detective all the time as a child. It was released in '89, so three years before I came onto the scene, but I always loved it. It's partly why I love all Sherlock things nowadays. The film follows little Olivia Flaversham who's father has been kidnapped by Professor Ratigan, and she enlists the help of Basil to help reunite them!

Bullet Journal
So for my new, 'Bullet Journal Fave Page' section, I've selected this one of my 'October' monthly layout. I'm loving this so much due to Dorkface's (aka Jemma) amazing sticker I picked up from her Etsy store!

Hope you enjoyed these faves for October! What have you loved this month from each category? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe!

A Pretty Big Superdrug Haul | Part 1

I was doing so well all summer and barely bought any beauty items, but as soon as that cold weather hit... BAM. My Superdrug online basket was filled and I had pretty new makeup items on their way to me.

I've been posting pics of most of these on my Instagram over the last couple of weeks, so you may have already seen some of the pretty pieces I picked up!

This haul is pretty much all MUA products, except one being a Kylie Jenner Sinful Colours nail polish, so I've jammed that one in first, and the rest are all MUA! Hope you enjoy and I don't make any of you buy anything...

Kylie Sinful Colours - Kleopatra ~ £3
Extreme Black Mascara - £2
MUA Luxe, Whipped Velvet, Majestic - £1.50

MUA Luxe Whipped Velvet, Chichi - £1.50
MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer, Kooky - £3

Voluminous Felt Eyeliner - £3

Lipstick, Raven (Black) - £1

Hide & Conceal Stick, Natural - £1

Highlighting Powder, Iridescent Gold - £3

Translucent Powder - £1

MUA Luxe Bronze & Scuplt Contour Kit, Light Medium - £5

I really like all of these, and the fact this whole haul was only £25 for 11 items is pretty decent in my opinion! I'll give them all a good review at some point after I've used them all a lot longer, but I just want more of the MUA lip lacquers!

Oh and I know I've not shown any swatches of anything but the nail polish! Well, that's because there are so many pictures that it would have been such a long post! So, part 2 will go up next month so you can check out the swatches and the reviews of them all!

Do you own any of these, or want to give them a try yourself? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Comic Book Haul

I'm a geek.

I love all things 'fandom', such as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Supernatural, Marvel, DC... the list is endless.

So after getting into Batman last year, as well as my love for Harley Quinn last October for Comic Con, I've become a little more geeky. I mean, I've tipped the scales now.

I've gone from just movies and TV shows fandoms, to comic books. I've really got in the Harley Quinn Rebirth series this year, and it's a little scary, (as Cam tells me), how much I'm like Harley. Not in a 'psychotic, mad, murderer,' way, but her little mannerisms, her love of clothes and shoes, and her choice of words.

I started reading comics last year a little bit, but it's only been since April that I've gone a little mad!

Now you know this fact about me, if you didn't already! But today I wanted to share some of my recent comic book purchases for those of you bloggers and readers who are with me for the geeky stuff!

So this is #4 of the new Harley Quinn series, and it's been really easy to jump into #1 and not feel too lost. There are a few references to the 'old' series, but you don't feel like you need to read it to get it! Number 1-3 was a Zombie story and 5-8 (I think) are a different story - so #4 stands alone!
This one is about a killer robot in an overseas store, and Harley and Bolly Quinn go on a little adventure to stop it!

#5 is all about a set of killers who are in a Punk band, and to try and stop them, Harley and her friends form a Punk group, get transformations, and basically cause havoc. #6 is currently in the post on it's way to my house as you read this, and I cannot wait to see what she gets them all to do next!

Harley Quinn and her Gang of Harleys, is a 6 part series that goes alongside the Rebirth comics, and is honestly the best series I've ever read so far. I'm loving the normal Harley ones, but these are just hilarious! Harley has five girls and one guy in her Gang, and they each have their own Harley name - but you can read it to find them all out!
Harley gets kidnapped by the scary Harley Sinn, and the Gang are on a mission to save her!

The Trinity series focuses on Batman, Superman and Wonderwoman. I read this not long after it was released in September, and I honestly cannot get into this. I won't get #2 as I just didn't like it!
I loved the BvS movie, and am excited for the Wonder Woman movie, so I was hoping I would like this - but I feel you need to read a few of the previous 'old' series to really understand what was going on! So sadly no more of theses - even though Cameron loved it!

********

And I can guarantee by the time you read this, I'll have got at least three or four more to read... Are you a geek like me, and if you are, what gets your fangirl/boy engine going? And do you read comic books? Let me know! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

Freedom Priming Water & Fixing Spray Review

Until this year, I'd never heard of Primers or Fixing Sprays.

Didn't even know these were a thing.

And then one day on Twitter, everyone was going on about an Urban Decay or MAC Fixing Sprays, and I had no idea what they were on about - but soon realised they were out of my price range.

I'd not thought much about them until the Summer when it was getting super hot here in the UK (and I miss the heat right now!) I wandered into Superdrug and spotted the Freedom stand, and picked up their Priming Water for £6 and the Fixing Spray for £5. Much more suited for my budget!

So I've been using these since the middle of June, and they are far over due a review!

The good news is they work wonders.

Myself and all of Emma's Bridal Party used both of these for her Wedding, and no makeup moved all day - and this was on a super hot July summer's day! And that's a pretty good survey of responses there, as we all have different skin types and makeup regimes. Hardly any touch-ups were needed all day!

They both have a very faint perfume scent, but that goes as soon as the sprays are both dried. They leave your face feeling quite soft and light, so you don't feel like you're wearing anything heavy duty on your face. The Priming Water dries quicker than the Fixing Spray, but I just gently fan my face to hurry it along.

Considering their purse friendly prices, I'm definitely going to be getting these again when I've used them both up.

Are you a fan of primers and fixing sprays? Let me know, and tell me which ones you like to use. Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)

30 Things I've Learnt In 3 Years Of Blogging

October 3rd was my blog's 3rd Birthday, and somehow I forgot to celebrate this fact!

I'm ashamed of myself.

My little corner of the internet has been churning out content for a whole 1095+ days now! I still can't believe I done it for a year, let alone THREE.

And lets just ignore the fact I had a two week break

So I'm 11 days late at actually doing this post, but it's here! Usually I look back on my blog headers since day one, but I feel I've done that too much! So today, I'm going to share some things I've learnt about this blogging shiz in my three years!

Buckle up, there's a few!

  1. It is very hard work
  2. You will want to quit at some point, but never do it
  3. You will have times you don't feel good enough
  4. It's perfectly fine to take a blogging break
  5. And no, you don't have to justify having one! We have breaks from our 'real jobs' all the time - so why is it different with blogging?
  6. You can write about whatever the heck you like
  7. No, you don't have to be a master photoshopper, or professional photographer
  8. You will, however, pick up amazing photography skills, and master the art of picture editing
  9. Typing becomes second nature
  10. You'll even learn basic HTML if you customise your blog enough times!
  11. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO BROKE TO BLOG
  12. You will meet some truly amazing people
  13. Other people mentioning your blog makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside
  14. You'll know other bloggers by their blog name/twitter handle, more than their actual names
  15. You do not have to go to blogger meet ups if you do not want to
  16. Blogging shouldn't feel like a chore, but at times... it does
  17. Comparing your blog to {insert epic blog name} will make you feel like crap
  18. You will always feel proud of your blog no matter what
  19. Comments on your blog make you smile so much
  20. Commenting on other blogs makes you smile too!
  21. Explaining your blog to your parents can be so stressful
  22. If you want to fashion post and don't possess a tripod, a sibling/friend is always handy! (Thank you to my sibster for helping all those years back!)
  23. When a company wants to collab with you, you will end up getting far too excited.
  24. Especially when it's a cake company!
  25. Blog about what you're passionate about - it makes for the best posts
  26. You will find so many amazing Disney bloggers sharing tips about Disney World!
  27. Not everyone is going to want to read your blog - but that's totally fine, and you'll love the people who do read it, even more.
  28. You'll always worry about copyright issues
  29. A filler post such as a tag or playlist is perfectly fine if you're rushed for time
  30. You will quickly become a Social Media Queen - rivaling Kim K in no time!

And finally, a little quote I love that I try and apply to all my blogger buddies and you amazing readers...
I love you guys!

So, happy blog birthday to me! I'd love to know how long you've been blogging for and if you have anything else to add to this list! If you do, let me know!

Oh, and if you've made it this far, I'll be setting up the birthday Giveaway for sometime next week, so keep tuned! Hope you have a great day and keep safe :)
